Abstract: Free standing hybrid riser (FSHR) is a combination of rigid steel tower which offsets from the floating platform and supported by buoyancy tank. It is connected to the floating platform using flexible jumpers. The key benefit of this system is the steel tower not subjected to floating platform dynamic motion, accordingly enables the use of steel riser system in harsh environment loading. Structural dynamics analysis is mainly concerned with finding out the behavior of a physical structure when subjected to loads due to dynamic forces. In this project, structural dynamic analysis was done to obtain the system configuration, vessel & buoyancy tank movement (API RP-2SK & DNV-OS-F301), also rigid steel tower (API RP-2RD & DNV-F-201) & flexible jumper (API RP-17J) displacements, time history, and stress using random wave as an acting dynamic load. As result, the vessel & buoyancy tank movement do not exceed the design criteria. The rigid steel tower & flexible jumper von mises stress do not exceed the design criteria.
