Abstract: The increase in the population in Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi has resulted in increased community needs. The Pasangkayu people depend on the agriculture and plantation sectors where the income value of the community is still insufficient to fulfil their needs. To meet the needs of the community, a port is needed, which currently has only the Polewali port in West Sulawesi. Therefore, a new port is needed to support the economy in West Sulawesi, especially Pasangkayu Regency. This is where the role of the Pasangkayu container port is the gateway to the economy of West Sulawesi Province. This study will determine the best location of the port out of three locations based on accessibility factors, land availability, trestle length requirements to the depth of plan, distance to Makassar Port and ease of shipping based on the influence of waves and current resulted by hydrodynamic modelling using Surface Water Modelling System (SMS) software and plan the port water facility layout for the best location. The result of this study showed that the Third Location is the best port location and the port water facility layout is designed for the First Location.
