Abstract

In designing structures, deterministic values are often used. However, in fact, the factor which will happen to the structure usually are random variables. Therefore, reliability analysis is approached using statistics and probability. Reliability index itself is the product to quantify the probability of failure of a member or structure. This final thesis will do the analysis of a central processing platform in Natuna sea with first do the inplace, seismic, and fatigue analysis for the structure. After that, will be determined three members which are categorized critical from these group: jacket-pile, topside and deck leg), and reliability analysis will be done by using Monte Carlo simulation. Even though reliability analysis also can be done using analytical approach, the complexity of the structures makes it almost impossible to determine an equation which connecting the effect of loads with the reaction of the members. From the simulation it can be concluded that the structure has conservative reliability index.
