Abstract: Riser is one of facility used in oil and gas exploration and exploitation process done in Deep Ocean. Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) is a riser that have free hanging configuration with rigid steel material. During SCR design process, phenomena called riser interference often happen. Riser interference happens when the riser experience clashing that can damage the riser and reduce its service life. Initial SCR placement must be design in the best way possible to prevent clashing between risers along their unsuspended length. In this case study, main parameters that can affect riser interference during design process, like how vessel response will affect riser movement and also how length of helical strake used will affect line clearance (distance between center point or risers), will be analyzed referred to DNV-RP-F203 Riser Interference. Environmental load used here is random wave with JONSWAP theoretical spectrum. After that, those parameters will be compared at 250 meter, 500 meter, and 1000 meter water depth, so that optimum design of SCR at each water depth will be obtained and to acknowledge how the change of water depth will affect SCR’s line clearance value.
